Japan Highlights

I can’t believe it has been 3 weeks since I have blogged! I have so much to tell about my Japan trip. With uni assignments, exams, kids and an article for the Japan Australia News, time has gotten away from me. Japan was amazing and I am indebted to the paper for sending me on such an amazing tour, (taken care of by the Organization for the Promotion of Tourism in Shikoku). I also want to thank my amazing friend Kate over at skinny cap with two sugars, for recommending me to the paper.

So this blog is going to be full of my beautiful food photos from my trip and a couple of the amazing scenery. A brief description of what you are seeing will be included unfortunately, no official recipes just a bit of what I reckon! Please enjoy the highlights of my tour to one of the most amazing places I’ve been to in my life!

Adventures in Japan!

Ramen is a popular noodle dish in Japan and has variation depending on which part you are visiting. I tried Tokushima ramen before white water rafting on the Yoshino River. The ramen was spectacular, made with a stock based on bacon bones it has ultra rich flavour.  Add some egg noodles and tender pork topped with spring onions and a slow-cooked egg, this was one of my favourite meals while away.

Immaculate Presentation!

The attention to detail in every meal we were presented was just amazing. Such care was taken to make us feel like honoured and special guests.  Food is a very important part of the Japanese culture and they take immense pride in presenting each dish. Here are a few of the meals we were treated to.
